Renovation and New Construction

Find opportunities for DIY renovation or new construction.

Deed-in-Escrow Rehabilitation Program

DIYers can purchase homes as-is with the deed held in escrow while they renovate to meet quality standards set by the Land Bank. Once the renovations are complete, the deed is transferred to the new property owner. This collaboration supports partnerships with contractors, investors, and owner-occupants to foster regrowth across Portage County neighborhoods.

New Construction Revolving Loan Fund Program

Through the Revolving Loan Fund Program, the Land Bank partners with private developers to build new homes on vacant land. By providing land and short-term financing, the program makes construction possible on underutilized properties. As homes are sold, funds are reinvested into future projects—driving redevelopment, boosting nearby property values, and creating new homeownership opportunities across the county.
